Spring and Summer volunteer sessions
Enjoy the fresh air, make connections and get involved with your community garden. Gloves, tools and guidance provided by our friendly gardeners, Jo and Charity, who will be on hand to guide you with tasks. All ages and abilities are welcome and no need to book. Volunteer gardening sessions are held every Wednesday 2pm-4pm over the spring and summer.
Volunteer gardening sessions are also held on selected Sundays 1pm-4pm starting on Sunday 16 March 2025 and then on 13 April, 8 June, 13 July and 10 August at the same time.
Seasonal connections workshops in the garden
Join us at one of our seasonal workshops to help you live more seasonally and help you strengthen your connections with nature and the local community.
Sunday 23 March 2025 | Seasonal Connections Workshop, celebrating the Spring Equinox with meditation; fire, detoxifying dandelions; Spring-themed poetry writing workshop; and shared seasonal lunch. Free, 10.30am-1.30pm, booking required.
Friday 20 June 2025 | Celebrating Summer Solstice, this is the second of a series of Seasonal Connections workshops with thanks to funding from the Love Norfolk Fund, managed by the Norfolk Community Foundation. The programme aims to help you live more seasonally and strengthen your connections with nature and your local community. We hope to mark this change in the seasons with yoga, drumming and a shared supper. Free, 6pm-9pm, booking required. Come play with us – board games sessions
Held in the garden if its warm/dry enough otherwise we’ll be upstairs in the Cloud Café, Dereham Road. Games are provided and you are welcome to bring your own. Join us on 14 May and 11 June 2025, 4.00pm-6.00pm. Free and no need to book. Please pay for your own drinks/snacks.
Family Gardening Club
Our monthly Family Gardening Glub is held on the last Sunday of each month (except in July), 2pm-3pm, over the spring and summer. On Sunday 27 April we are sowing sunflower seeds in pots and there is a Spring Quiz and WordSearch. You can attend this Family Gardening Club without booking in advance as its part of the Norwich Community Garden Festival, come along to find out more.
The Family Garden Club will also be held on Sunday 25 May, Sunday 29 June and Sunday 31 August. Free to attend, for more details and to book to attend, email contact@grapeshillcommunitygarden.org.
